Ascension Lutheran Church, Paradise Valley
Over 50 floral arrangements designed to art pieces, music, and architecture of the Ascension Lutheran Church. Pictures include the beautiful sanctuary and gardens, Ikebana arrangements by the local artists from Sogetsu, Ikenobo, and Ohara schools, live demonstrations & presentations, piano & Jazz performance, Piano Trio: Light classical and Ballroom Dance performance.

All flowers are beautiful. In Ikebana, we emphasize the beauty of flowers by creating a space or background for them. Ping will demonstrate examples of using flowers in which they are the focal points of ikebana.

Wanda Collins: Beauty in Ikebana with Sculpture
Sculpture has always been important in Sogetsu ikebana. You may create your own sculpture from materials that Wanda brings or you may bring a favorite sculpture to use as a focus in your arrangement.

Our annual holiday tea and workshop with winter visitor Claire McCaughey, Director of the Sogetsu Ottawa Branch. Celebrate the season with this lovely opportunity to work with Claire and the special holiday materials she brings, including mizuhiki (special Japanese strings).

Our long awaited and anticipated in-person workshop with Sogetsu Headquarters Master Teacher Misei Ishikawa. We will use traditional bleached and colored Mitsumata in unusual and artistic ways, combined with fresh materials.
